The Thames Barrier is a retractable barrier system built to protect the floodplain of most of Greater London from exceptionally high tides and storm surges moving up from the North Sea. It has been operational since 1982.
Pre-Construct Group performed a non-invasive concrete crack repair using specialist concrete injection methods to stabilise and maintain the integrity of key elements of the Thames Barrier. This method is used to fill voids, repair subsidence and stabilise concrete. A more cost-effective alternative to demolition and re-instatement.
