Policy Statement
MTF Diamond Drilling and Controlled Demolition Ltd is committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations and promoting sustainable working practices across all demolition, drilling, and robotic plant activities. We recognise that our work has the potential to affect air quality, land, water, waste streams, and local communities, and we take proactive steps to manage these impacts responsibly.
We comply with all relevant environmental legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Waste (England and Wales) Regulations, Control of Pollution Regulations, and all applicable industry standards and codes of practice.

Environmental Commitments
3.1 Pollution Prevention
We will prevent pollution to air, land, and water by:
- Ensuring safe handling, storage, and disposal of fuels, oils, and hazardous materials
- Implementing spill‑prevention and spill‑response procedures
- Complying with COSHH requirements and maintaining a hazardous substances register
- Following environmental controls outlined in RAMS and site‑specific instructions
3.2 Waste Management & Circularity
We will:
- Minimise waste generation across all projects
- Segregate, reuse, and recycle materials wherever possible
- Comply with Site Waste Management Plans and duty‑of‑care requirements
- Use licensed waste carriers and disposal facilities
- Reduce waste to landfill and increase recycling rates year‑on‑year
3.3 Resource Efficiency
We will reduce resource consumption by:
- Using energy‑efficient equipment and low‑emission plant where feasible
- Optimising fleet routing to reduce fuel use
- Extending equipment life through preventative maintenance
- Reducing office energy and water consumption
3.4 Carbon & Emissions Reduction
We will:
- Monitor fuel and energy use across our fleet, plant, and facilities
- Establish baseline emissions data and set reduction targets
- Explore low‑emission and electric plant options as technology evolves
- Reduce idling and unnecessary engine use on all sites
3.5 Biodiversity & Land Protection
We will:
- Avoid adverse impacts on local habitats
- Follow site‑specific ecological requirements
- Ensure demolition and drilling activities do not disturb protected species or sensitive areas
3.6 Sustainable Procurement
We will:
- Prioritise suppliers with strong environmental credentials
- Include sustainability criteria in procurement decisions

We will:

- Coordinate improvement initiatives
Managers & Supervisors
- Implement environmental controls on site
- Ensure waste, pollution, and resource‑efficiency measures are followed
- Communicate environmental requirements to operatives
Employees & Contractors
- Follow all environmental procedures and training
- Report spills, hazards, or environmental concerns immediately
- Support recycling, waste segregation, and pollution‑prevention measures
Suppliers & Partners
- Expected to comply with MTF’s environmental standards
- Must provide evidence of responsible waste and environmental practices
Implementation Measures
We will implement this policy through:
- Environmental risk assessments and controls within RAMS
- Waste segregation systems and licensed waste carriers
- Spill kits and pollution‑prevention equipment on all sites
- Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment
- Monitoring of fuel, energy, and waste data
- Staff training and toolbox talks
- Supplier and subcontractor environmental checks
Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
We will:
- Track key environmental indicators such as fuel use, emissions, waste volumes, and recycling rates
- Conduct periodic audits and inspections
- Review environmental performance annually
- Update this policy in line with legislation, operational changes, or improvement opportunities
