1. Policy Statement
MTF Diamond Drilling and Controlled Demolition Ltd is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, contractors, clients, and members of the public affected by our operations. Our work involves controlled demolition, diamond drilling, robotic plant operations, and associated construction activities — all of which require rigorous safety management.
We operate in accordance with:
- The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
- The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- CDM Regulations 2015
- All other applicable legislation, ACOPs, and industry best practice
We will continually improve our health and safety performance through proactive risk management, training, monitoring, and investment in safe equipment and systems of work.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all MTF Diamond Drilling and Controlled Demolition Ltd activities, including:
- Controlled demolition
- Diamond drilling and cutting
- Robotic demolition plant operations
- Transport and logistics
- Site operations and supervision
- Office‑based activities
- Contractor and subcontractor management
It covers all employees, contractors, agency workers, and any party acting on behalf of the company.
Our Commitments
3.1 Safe Operations
We will ensure all work is planned, risk‑assessed, and delivered using safe systems of work, including RAMS, toolbox talks, and site‑specific inductions.
3.2 Competence & Training
We will provide all necessary training, refresher training, and certification to ensure employees are competent to carry out their duties safely.
3.3 Equipment Safety
We will maintain all tools, plant, and equipment in a safe condition through daily checks, scheduled inspections, and documented maintenance.
3.4 Hazardous Substances
We will comply with COSHH requirements, maintain a hazardous substances register, and ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal.
3.5 Environmental Protection
We will prevent pollution, manage waste responsibly, and comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
3.6 Incident Reporting
All accidents, incidents, and near misses will be reported, recorded, and investigated to prevent recurrence, including RIDDOR‑reportable events.
3.7 Alcohol & Drugs
Employees must not work under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing medication.
3.8 Asbestos
We will not disturb suspected asbestos materials unless authorised and trained for non‑licensed work, following HSE guidance.
3.9 CDM Compliance
We will meet all duties under CDM 2015, including competence, cooperation, coordination, and safe planning of construction activities.
3.10 Worker Engagement
We will consult with employees on health and safety matters and encourage reporting of hazards, unsafe practices, and improvement opportunities.

Board of Directors
- Provide leadership and resources

Managing Director
- Hold ultimate responsibility for health and safety
- Ensure implementation of this policy across all operations
- Oversee training, equipment, and safe systems of work
Supervisors & Site Managers
- Implement safe systems of work on site
- Conduct briefings, inspections, and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with RAMS and site rules
Employees & Contractors
- Take reasonable care for their own safety and that of others
- Follow all safety procedures and training
- Report hazards, incidents, and equipment defects immediately
Suppliers & Subcontractors
- Must meet MTF’s competence, safety, and compliance standards
- Must follow all site rules, RAMS, and reporting procedures

5.1 Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)
- Prepared for all tasks
- Communicated to all operatives
- Reviewed when conditions change
5.2 Accident Reporting & Investigation
- All incidents recorded in the company’s reporting system
- RIDDOR events reported to HSE
- Investigations conducted to identify root causes
5.3 Equipment Inspections
- Daily pre‑use checks
- 6‑monthly formal inspections
- Defective equipment removed from service immediately
5.4 Fire Safety
- Fire risk assessments completed
- Means of escape maintained
- Hot works controlled under permit systems
5.5 Health Surveillance
- Provided where required (e.g., HAVS, noise, dust exposure)
- Confidential and compliant with data protection requirements
5.6 Working at Height
- Avoided where possible
- Controlled using safe access equipment and fall‑prevention systems
5.7 Manual Handling
- Risk‑assessed
- Mechanical aids used where possible
- Training provided
5.8 Noise & Vibration
- Exposure minimised through equipment selection and rotation
- Monitoring and health surveillance provided

6. Monitoring, Review & Continuous Improvement
We will:
